Members are advised that the NDS Board has agreed a new process for members to nominate for 9 National Committees of the Board.

Factsheet: Economic benefits of the NDIS

13/07/2016

NDS has released a report showing the potential scale of the economic benefits of the NDIS for Australia, based on data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). The findings reference an ABS survey of over 75,000 people with disability who would like to work but can’t because of current restrictions, as well as their carers who can’t currently return to the workforce because of their caring responsibilities.

The report forecasts a steady rise in labour force participation among people with disability and their carers by the time the NDIS is completely rolled out in mid-2019, which will in turn lift Australia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
