We are also very excited to announce that Karni Liddell will be delivering this yearâs Kenneth Jenkins Oration.Karni was born with a neuro-muscular wasting disease that has not slowed her down. Despite her parents being told she would never walk, crawl or live past her teenage years, Karni Liddell broke her first World Record at the age of 14. She went on to win Paralympic medals at every Paralympic event in which she has competed and hasnât stopped there.Karni has been a TED speaker, TV presenter, âmamaâ, and a clinical social worker. Karni is the NDIS Ambassador in Queensland, a member of the Queensland Premierâs Domestic and Family Violence Council, a presenter for Channel 7âs âThe Weekenderâ, and has been a talkback radio presenter. Karni's unstoppable drive sees her as the Ambassador for Kids Help Line, Muscular Dystrophy QLD and Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association. Karni has served as the Patron of the International Day of People with a Disability and was awarded the Pride of Australia medal.Â
