At this crucial point in the review of the Supported Employment Services Award, we invite you to participate in the Disability Enterprise Summit – an event for NDS members who operate Disability Enterprises.

Registrations are now open for the event, which will be held in Canberra on 4 and 5 September 2017.

These are uncertain times for Disability Enterprises. As well as experiencing tightening economic conditions, Disability Enterprises are in the midst of a changing policy environment. Meanwhile, the battle around wage setting continues in the Fair Work Commission.

In recent weeks, the Fair Work Commission has formally commenced the Supported Employment Services Award review. This will bring to a head the issue regarding the legitimacy of wage assessment tools containing a competency component. The Unions and the Advocates have clearly stated they intend to pursue the removal of each of these tools. To respond effectively to this, we need to understand your views and concerns.

During the Summit we will present you with three options – which will be considered by facilitated discussion. Our aim is to finish the day with a clear direction on the way forward which will determine where NDS focuses its resources in the coming months.

The day following the Summit is our BuyAbility Parliamentary Breakfast – an opportunity to secure further political commitment for supported employment and your enterprises.

We look forward to welcoming you to Canberra for this very important event.

Register now on the NDS event page.
