NDS invites you to explore 'the next frontier' in disability employment by submitting a paper for the Disability at Work conference 2018.

We want you to help shape this exciting event, which in 2018 will have a different structure. Day One will have separate streams focused on open employment and marketing. Day Two will have streams focussing on supported employment and transition to work.

2018 promises to be a year of significant opportunities and challenges for employment service providers. A new DES contract in 2018 will have a greater focus on participant choice and control, as well as employer engagement. A new risk-adjusted funding model should mean that those furthest from the labour market receive more assistance.

After experiencing ongoing uncertainty, we hope that 2018 is a year in which Disability Enterprises are able to focus on their job at hand, providing an array of quality employment options in diverse, sustainable businesses.

2018 will also provide opportunities to test new support models for people transitioning into employment. NDIS funding for School Leaver Employment Supports and ‘finding and keeping a job’ will enhance access to a wider range of targeted supports for people with disability embarking on a career.

The two-day Disability at Work conference will examine innovative ways to activate and engage people with disability in employment opportunities.

It is designed for employment service providers (open, supported, social enterprises and transition to work) and professionals interested in promoting a broad range of employment opportunities for people with disability.

NDS is calling for the submission of abstracts of presentations that will shape and enrich the delivery of employment supports for people with disability. The focus will be on enhancing access to employment, best practice and practical solutions.

Abstracts must be submitted by 28 February 2018. Find details and instructions on the submission process in our Call for Papers: PDF | Word.
