COVID-19 Vaccine update for providers
2/03/2021
The Australian Department of Health has distributed a second Disability Provider Alert. The Pfizer vaccine was rolled out to a small number of sites last week to both people with disability and staff (where available). The Department is requesting feedback from organisations involved as part of a focus on continuous improvement during the vaccine rollout.
Toolkit
A COVID-19 readiness toolkit containing information about what to expect, a checklist, roles and responsibilities, site readiness requirements, and consent guidance will be made available this week to support providers in preparation for vaccine delivery in your organisation.
NDS’s support for members
A reminder the NDS has created a Vaccine webpage in the COVID-19 hub which includes the Vaccine Eligibility checker as well as other vaccine-related advice and resources.
Vaccine rollout data collection
In late January, members will remember the NDIS Commission issued an urgent call for information to assist with vaccine rollout. Any providers that haven’t yet completed the online form, or anyone needing to update data they’ve already submitted can do so - the form will be available ongoing and is also available via a link on the vaccine page of NDS’s COVID-19 hub.
