Launched yesterday by the Minister for Environment and Disability Services, Hon Stephen Dawson MLC, the initiative will create more than 600 jobs and has been designed to provide employment opportunities for people with disability, the long-term unemployed, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, as well as opportunities for apprentices and trainees.Under the scheme, Western Australians can now cash in their eligible drink containers for 10c each at any of the 200 authorised Containers For Change refund point around the State.

NDS State Manager Julie Waylen said the scheme would pave the way for reduced litter, improved recycling rates and would be an important job creation initiative for people with disability.
