Call for papers extended for NDS’s Regional and Remote Conference

Regional and Remote Conference 2024, 9-10 April Pullman Cairns International

Disability support providers can help shape the Regional and Remote Conference program by presenting a paper at the conference in Cairns on 9 and 10 April.

The submission deadline has been extended to 8 March for presentations, poster abstract submissions, video submissions and stories of best practice.

The theme of this year’s conference is Invigorate!

The two-day national conference will give disability support providers the chance to step out of their day-to-day work to explore innovative strategies to invigorate their business.

The program will touch on many of the issues facing regional, rural and remote providers, and we invite disability sector leaders and experts, like you, to contribute to this important conversation by submitting a paper to join the conference program.

Your submission may focus on:

  • disaster management
  • sustainability
  • practice standards
  • support for providers outside of the NDIS
  • culturally safe and competent services
  • pathways to better housing
  • strategies for workforce development
  • examples of good practice
  • working in partnership
  • community development.

Submit an abstract of up to 300 words and contribute to this year's program. Poster and video extracts will also be accepted and can be sent to Events at NDS: submit enquiry/feedback. A programming committee will review and shortlist submissions.

Submissions close at 11:59pm AEDT on 8 March.

Check out our conference webpage for more information and to take advantage of the early-bird rate.
