Reforms to private health insurance which potentially have implications for providers and people with disability were announced last October by the Australian Government.

The Department of Health (DOH) has released the Private Health Insurance Reforms Consultation Paper and invites responses by Monday, 8 February 2021.

The reforms aim to improve the affordability, value, and attractiveness of private health insurance, including for young Australians with disability. DOH is seeking more information about factors such as private health insurance (PHI) coverage and premiums.
