The Commonwealth Department of Health has issued a COVID-19 vaccination – Disability Provider Alert which notes the continuing rollout of phase 1a for residential accommodation settings and an update on vaccine access for disability support workers.

Workers aged under 50 years are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine. Clinics run by Sonic Healthcare are being progressively set up, starting in Sydney.

Workers aged over 50 years can access the AstraZeneca vaccine at their local GP clinic, Commonwealth Vaccination Centre (previously GP-led Respiratory Clinics) or Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS). Participating clinics can be found on the eligibility checker.

All disability support workers can also visit their state or territory government-run clinics to access the vaccine recommended for their age. To confirm eligibility and book an appointment, please complete the eligibility checker.
