NDS welcomes the announcement that the Australian Government (working with
the NSW, Victorian, Queensland, and South Australian State Governments) will
provide up to $15 million to fund the pilot of a National Disability Data
Asset. This new longitudinal dataset is intended to ‘better understand how
people with disability are supported through services, payments and programs’
across the country.
NDS has been a strong advocate for more and better data since the NDIS
began. NDIS data could become the best population-based disability database in
the world, and it can be linked to other data.
