Details are now available about how providers can access the enhanced COVID-19 supports that the NDIS Minister announced on Wednesday, as well as booking details for the Commonwealth disability vaccination hub in Thomastown Victoria.

Deep cleaning, assistive technology and clinical first response

The Agency has provided information on how to claim deep cleaning, assistive technology, and clinical first response, to assist providers to adjust to COVID normal.

PPE

Participants can access up to $50 per week from their budget for PPE for their use if they receive an average of at least 1 hour a day of face-to-face Assistance with Daily Life supports. Their Core support budget can be used to purchase items if it is reasonable and necessary for PPE items to be used while receiving support. SIL providers

Details on claiming the $150 payment per NDIS SIL participant attending an off-site vaccination location, have been released.  Providers should invoice the NDIA for the costs associated, including:

• vaccine-related administration e.g. consent forms and arranging appointments
• COVID-safe transport
• staff accompanying participants

SIL providers can submit their claim once the NDIS participant has received all required doses and is fully vaccinated. Providers must submit their invoice using the myplace provider portal, and follow these steps:

1. Log in to the myplace provider portal
2. Select the ‘payment enquiry’ tile 
3. Complete the details of the organisation representative
4. Select ‘single payment issue’
5. Submission on behalf of a participant – select ’no’
6. Drop down box – Request details – select subject ‘payment request enquiry’
7. Do you have a service booking? – select ’no’
8. Do you have a payment request number? – select ’no’
9. Is there an amount involved in the enquiry? – select ’no’
10. In the ‘Feedback’ text box, type ‘Covid19 Vaccination Support Invoice’
11. Associated documents – you must upload an invoice, not a CSV file
12. Select what you would like to do with this payment issue – select ‘Submit’.

To avoid a delay in payment, the Agency advises that providers should:

• type ‘Covid19 Vaccination Support Invoice’ in the ‘Feedback’ text box 
• submit invoices within 28 days of delivering the support 
• include the following information in the invoice:
  • participant/s name, NDIS number/s and date/s of birth
  • this statement confirming the COVID-19 vaccination support has been delivered to the participant – ‘I confirm this claim for payment is correct and NDIS participants included have completed their series of COVID-19 vaccinations including all required doses’.

An invoice with multiple participant claims will be accepted. 

SIL providers for plan and self-managed participants can also receive this support.  Submit invoices within 28 days by email to provider.support@ndis.gov.au.

Commonwealth vaccination hub - Thomastown, Victoria

The new Commonwealth run disability vaccination hub is situated at 258 Settlement Road, Thomastown and operates Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm. Bookings are required.

Support worker bookings - Thomastown hub

Disability support workers should book an appointment via HealthEngine. Workers will need to bring with them:

• A completed COVID-19 Vaccination Consent form
• A completed COVID-19 Vaccination - Eligibility declaration form
• Photo ID
• Medicare Card

Participant bookings - Thomastown hub

All bookings for residents of disability accommodation must be done by sending an email to Aspen Medical. 

Details must include:

• Your facility contact person
• Phone number
• Number of residents seeking vaccination
• Preferred dates

Victorian Government vaccine blitz - state-run vaccination centres

As we reported earlier this week, a five day vaccination blitz for Victorian disability workers is running until Sunday, 6 June. The blitz provides priority walk-in access for disability residential workers upon showing proof of their eligibility.

A Victorian Government proof of eligibility letter for disability residential workers can be downloaded and printed. 

People with disability who are currently eligible for the vaccination program are also able to access their vaccinations at state-run vaccination sites.
