This workshop is in partnership with and facilitated by Preventing Harm Initiative (PHI).

Often before a serious incident occurs, there has been a previous Near Miss that was not reported on. Near Misses are are an opportunity to prevent future harm.

This course will show you what near misses are and walk you through the benefits of reporting them to reduce harm to person receiving services, staff and organisations and create a culture of continuous improvement

Instructor Led Training (ILT) via Zoom

Duration: One hour

Course outcomes:

  • Value the importance of reporting near misses and know how it successfully reduces risk and improve safety
  • Know what is a near miss and why are people reluctant to report them
  • Gain case study experience in identify near miss and strategies which could be put in place to prevent them

Who should attend?

NDS recommends that all staff within disability service organisations are most suited to attend.
