NDIA releases Supported Decision Making Policy

8/05/2023

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) has released a Supported Decision Making Policy on the decisions people make about the NDIS, such as applying for support, goal setting, and how supports are used in their plan.

The policy is based on a recognition of the rights of people with disability to make their own decisions. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) outlines the rights of people with disability to dignity, autonomy, decision making and the recognition of their legal capacity.
