DRC report finds high rates of abuse for LGBTQA+ people with disability

Royal Commission Update

5/04/2023

The Disability Royal Commission (DRC) has published a research report that looks at LGBTQA+ people with disability who have experienced violence, abuse and neglect.

Written by researchers from La Trobe University, Melbourne, the report includes results from two surveys organised by age groups, which were answered by over 5000 LGBTQIA+ people with disability across all states and territories. The report did not include intersex people with disability because of their lack of representation in the sample.
