Theâ¯thirty-third and final substantive hearing of the Disability Royal Commission was held in Brisbane from 8 to 10 May 2023. Hearing 33 focussed on a case study that draws together themes examined in most of the previous Royal Commission hearings: the nature and extent of violence, abuse and neglect over the life course of people with disability, and the failure of natural safeguards and government departments and agencies to prevent it.Â
