Day Three began with further evidence from Andrew Hyland, Chief Executive Officer at Sunnyfield. The Commission heard yesterday of a Sunnyfield house in western Sydney and the investigation of incidents of abuse and neglect. There were 24 findings and three recommendations in the Commissionâs Report.â¯â¯Â
The Chair reflected that the issues at Sunnyfield go beyond the individual cases referenced yesterday, noting, however, that a written apology has been made to residents and families. Evidence was heard of changes in practices and procedures to address some of the issues. Notwithstanding, the Chair asserted that the evidence, taken as a whole, demonstrated that Sunnyfield:Â
