Looking for more ways to connect?

Join the NDS WA Quality and Safeguarding Community of Practice (CoP) – The sector readiness team host a peer-led forum every two months for all NDIS disability service providers in WA. At the meetings providers share information and have opportunities to problem solve and to learn from each other, on matters relating to quality and safeguarding. Specialist Consultancy and Training

Specialist consultancy and training

The Sector Readiness specialist consultancy services have already assisted many providers in WA to address quality and safeguarding and compliance issues. This includes assistance with:

  • Governance support for boards and senior leadership to understand the impacts of the NDIS Practice Standards.
  • Audit support including preparing for audit, continuous improvement and addressing non-conformities.
  • Policies and procedure gaps analysis and support putting policy into practice.
  • Navigating processes for re-registration, the audit cycle, reporting requirements, and NDIS Worker Screening.
  • Developing frameworks such as medication, positive behaviour support and clinical governance.
  • Registration and re-registration processes including how to prepare your application and navigating the process.

Training for your Teams

Our project can provide free consultant-led in-house training for your teams in areas of quality and safeguarding compliance, tailored to the specific needs of your organisation. We provide in-house training online or face to face in:

  • Systems and processes including risk, incidents, quality and complaints management.
  • Upholding human rights, embedding a culture of this within your workforce.
  • Positive behaviour support and understanding restrictive practices, including training for implementing providers looking to understand their responsibilities.
  • Audits requirements preparing for audit, addressing non-conformities and internal audits.
  • Guiding principles of medication management and preventing medication incidents.
  • Quality and safeguarding for leadership, including risk appetite and tolerance, conflict of interest and embedding continuous improvement.
