A free program for students, offering inspiring, interactive disability awareness, career workshops and workplace experience.

What are the key benefits?
  • Half-day career workshops inspire students to apply their passions, skills and abilities to enrich their lives and the lives of others by pursuing a rewarding care career
  • Students get the opportunity to meet staff members who work in the disability and community care sector, learning about their careers and working life.
  • Students learn about the variety of career options in the disability and community care sector, from support workers and nurses, social workers, advocates, physiotherapists, marketing professionals, business managers and IT support staff

Who is this resource for?

High school Career Advisers can express their interest in having a projectABLE workshop visit their school via the inquiry form on the projectABLE website. Students from years 10, 11 and 12 are encouraged to participate.

projectABLE is a response to the increasing demand for skilled workers in the disability and community care sector. Through interactive workshops and hands-on experience, projectABLE encourages students to consider a career in the sector – so far, more than 7,500 students from over 300 Australian schools have participated in a projectABLE workshop.
