“The current Morrison government has been engaging in an undeclared war (against the NDIS), cutting literally thousands and thousands of participants‘ plans,” Bill Shorten, the ALP NDIS spokesperson said.

NDS CEO Laurie Leigh said the sector welcomed the announcement. Several of the policy points reflected what NDS has been calling for through the Teamwork Works campaign.

National Disability Services chief executive Laurie Leigh said she was pleased to see there would be an expert review to guarantee scheme plans weren’t unfairly reduced.

“It’s great to see a commitment from Labor that unworkable NDIS pricing will be addressed with a review of pricing models,” Laurie Leigh also said.

Every Australian Counts campaign manager Jean Cotchin also welcomed Labor’s policy, saying her organisation had heard “more and more stories from people who have had their NDIS funding cut with no reasonable explanation”.
