This week, NDS together with the WA Department of Communities, acknowledged Bruce Langoulant AM for his significant contribution to the WA disability sector.

The Office of Disability's Executive Director, Marion Hailes-MacDonald, acknowledged Bruce’s 21 years of service on the Disability Services Commission Board, including 15 years as Chair.

Joan McKenna Kerr, Chair of the NDS State Committee, said Bruce has dedicated himself to working in the disability sector and passionately advocating for people with disability in Western Australia.

“He has been a friend, mentor, and leader through what has been a time of significant change for the WA disability sector,” she said.

Bruce’s dedication and service to the community, health, meningitis awareness and prevention earned him a well-deserved Order of Australia Award in 2019.

Bruce plans to continue to champion a thriving disability sector in WA through his work as an advocate and lobbyist, as a founding member of the Disability Assembly WA, and as a carer to his daughter Ashley.
