On Friday 1 December, more than 600 people attended our annual NDS WA Lunch in Celebration of International Day of People with Disability.

Held in the Grand Ballroom at Crown Perth, the event was just one of many held across Australia and the rest of the world to promote community awareness and inclusion by celebrating the achievements and contributions of people with disability.

The theme this year was ‘My Life, Our Community’, acknowledging that everyone has the right to make decisions for their life and should have the opportunity to be involved and play a role within their community.

Our emcee, Chanel Bowen, masterfully brought the celebration to life, and we were honoured to be joined by the Hon. Don Punch MLA, Minister for Disability Services. Thank you to everyone who joined us. Your energy and enthusiasm made for a wonderful event.

Special thanks must also go to Lotterywest for their support and to our event sponsors, Department of Communities, HESTA, Identitywa, St Jude’s Disability Services and Optus.
