The NDIS Commission recently released Part 1 of its Own Motion Inquiry into support coordination and plan management. This is the third of the NDIS Commission’s Own Motion Inquiries.

This latest inquiry analyses the complaints and reportable incident data held by the NDIS Commission that relate to support coordination and plan management across two similar time periods.

The report notes that some of the triggers for the Inquiry followed the findings identified in the Victorian supported residential services (SRS) through 2020 and 2021. According to the report participants living in SRS accommodation with independent support coordination and plan management support had greater choice and control of their plans in comparison to those whose intermediaries were the same entity as their direct support provider.
