The first Board and senior leaders network meeting for 2023 with focus on addressing Occupational Violence in the disability sector.

The session will commence with a high-level overview of the initial findings on a NDS Victorian project focused on highlighting best practice in addressing occupational violence. The focus of this project is how to keep everybody safe whilst delivering high quality supports that uphold the human rights of people with disability and whilst also providing a safe working environment for workers.

This will be followed by a presentation from executive team at ASCO about their systematic, whole of organisation approach to addressing occupational violence. ASCO will discuss how they have used data and evidence to assess, design, and drive their approach to work. This has included having a clearly articulated risk appetite, and the development of a culture of reporting near misses and incidents.

The implementation of robust analysis and feedback systems has been used to inform the development of systems of work, the capability of leaders to best support employees and worker wellbeing.
