The Department of Social Services (DSS) would like submissions on the proposed legislation to replace the Disability Services Act 1986, and NDS would like feedback from members for our submission. 

Because the Act has not been significantly updated in over thirty years, DSS would like it to better reflect the seven priority action areas in Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021-31 and Australia’s obligations under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disability (UNCRPD).
