Victorian corrections system fails people with a disability

An out of focus image showing the inside of a facility or hospital, the atmosphere is bright and there are people walking in the wide hallway

NDS welcomes the Victorian Auditor General’s (VAGO) report that finds that corrections services do not fully meet the needs of people with intellectual disability or acquired brain injury. The government has accepted, or accepted in principle, all 15 recommendations.

VAGO audited the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) to see if the corrections system meets the needs of people with intellectual disability or acquired brain injury.
