This workshop is tailored to new, existing and aspiring Support Coordinators in Western Australia.

As the landscape of the disability sector in Western Australia continues to evolve, people with disability and their families and carers are seeking various supports to assist them to navigate the NDIS - in order to self-direct, exercise choice and control and achieve their goals for a good life.

Support Coordinators help participants navigate the NDIS, link with community and mainstream supports, service providers and government agencies. Support Coordinators are playing an increasingly significant role in helping participants get the best outcomes from their NDIS-funded plans.

Learning outcomes:

  • Background and context for Support Coordination in Western Australia
  • Exploration of key NDIS concepts as they apply to the Support Coordination role
  • Applying the 'Lens of Possibility' - Flexible and creative approaches in the NDIS

About the presenters

Chloe Grant joined Valued Lives Foundation in 2018 as a Peer Network Advisor and Specialist in Support Coordination. Chloe is a qualified social worker and trainer/assessor, and enjoys sharing her knowledge in areas such as person-centred active support, disability and sexuality, and protective behaviours.

Paula Elliott joined Valued Lives as a Network Manager in September 2015, bringing extensive professional and lived experience as a passionate disability advocate and peer support networker to the team. She has many years’ experience in the disability sector including as a Local Area Coordinator, My Way Coordinator, Supervisor and Area Manager.
