WorkUP Queensland and NDS are delivering the DFV training and resource for the disability workforce as one of a suite of projects to progress the implementation of key actions under Queensland’s plan to respond to domestic and family violence against people with disability [PDF]

While our project focuses on the disability workforce the other projects are focussed on the following:

Broader community

The Social Deck is designing a communication and engagement strategy, to raise awareness about people with disability impacted by domestic and family violence. Research and consultation activities informing the development of the strategy have been completed. A draft strategy is currently being developed, with further consultation to test messages and channels taking place in November 2020.

For further information about this project, contact

Women with disability

Nous Group (Nous) is developing domestic and family violence resources for women with disability, to help people with disability to identify domestic and family violence and to seek support and assistance.

For further information about this project, contact

Evaluation

Deloitte Access Economics (DAE) is mapping domestic and family violence data on people with disability impacted by domestic and family violence and designing and completing an evaluation to measure and report on progress against the outcomes in the Plan.

Improvements in data collection and evaluation outcomes will better inform future decisions about defining need and improving the targeting of responses.

Each of these contribute towards the goal of ending violence against women with disability. While this is multilayered approach is strengthened by stakeholder engagement at a range of levels, we recognise the potential for overlap. We invite you to contact us or choose most appropriate engagement points across this work.
