Location: National (Online)
Date: 14/05/2021 to 21/05/2021

NDS invites Behaviour Support Practitioners to a series of four free professional development workshops.

Our project is supported through grant funding from the Australian Government, and NDS is pleased to provide the workshops free of charge to the sector. NDS would also like to thank the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission for the assistance they have given throughout the project.

All workshops in the series will:

  • embed a Human Rights approach,
  • map to the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Capability Framework, and
  • Include a workbook.

Workshop Four: Chemical restraint - how you can support reduction

This workshop is a two hour online workshop.

Your facilitator is Sarah Nicoll, National Practice Lead - Zero Tolerance. Sarah has been working in the sector for over 20 years in a diverse range of roles, including positive behaviour support.

Registration will be available separately for each jurisdiction, however, practitioners are also welcome to register for the date that best suits.
Registration details for Workshop Four are below.

Guest speakers

Mandy Donley is the former ACT Senior Practitioner and has been providing leadership to improve the lives of people who are vulnerable and potentially subject to restrictive practices across ACT and Victoria. A credentialed mental Health Nurse, Mandy now holds the National role of Director Behaviour Intervention Support Disability at Life Without Barriers.

Moira Buchholtz is a registered nurse with a passion for ensuring that people are able to realise their Human Rights. Working as a Forensic Psychiatric Nurse in secure settings and in the community, as well as working with the Victorian and ACT Senior Practitioners, Moira has a clear working knowledge of restrictive practices and how working together we can avoid, reduce and eliminate them wherever possible.

**Please note: Either Mandy or Moira will be present at each of the eight workshops, they will not appear together. One workshop will be recorded. We are yet to confirm the date and the guest presenter for the recording. All those who register for any date will receive a link to the recording when this is available.
