Date: 7/11/2019 to 8/11/2019
Registration
Melbourne Ballarat

Candid Conversations is a one-day workshop developed and delivered in partnership with People Development Australia. This program has been designed for people looking to expand their communications skills in giving and receiving feedback and having difficult conversations with others in the disability sector.

Mature people have the ability to get information out into the open from themselves and others. They have the skills and ability to bridge difference and handle emotions while meeting the needs of others. The can have frank and direct conversations while generating a safe environment to be candid about how they feel.

In this workshop, participants will learn strategies to:
  • Define and understand what a candid conversation is
  • Identify issues in their workplace that require candid conversations
  • Recognise their own style in handling difficult situations
  • Hold candid conversations utilizing tools
  • Understand how to get intended results
  • Effectively provide positive feedback - recognition and praise
  • Identify and understand techniques to manage worst case scenarios.
Accessibility

This venue is wheelchair accessible. Please contact the organiser directly with any additional accessibility requirements.

Who should attend?

Anyone in direct support, leadership or senior management positions looking to expand their communication skills in giving and receiving feedback.

Thanks to the Victorian Government's Transition Support Package, workshop costs have been heavily subsidised. NDS members benefit from further subsidised rates.
