NDIS Nuts and Bolts: Unpacking the processes of providing service under the NDIS
NDS in collaboration with local disability service providers invites you to a one day workshop with Sam Paior. Sam presents a unique opportunity around what you need to know to provide services to people with a disability under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
About the Presenter:
Sam Paior founded The Growing Space in 2007. In 2013, The Growing Space commenced support co-ordination and related services under the NDIS to families of children with disability, and now serves children and adults in the scheme. Sam has presented the NDIS Nuts and Bolts to more than 2000 participants, family members and providers across Australia, and founded and manages online NDIS support groups with more than 2000 active participant family members in South Australia. Sam also serves the NDIA by regularly presenting nationally to the Independent Advisory Council on self-management and direction issues.
What will this session offer:
Sam aims to maintain a flexibility around the session topics and will ensure the areas and issues covered are of specific interest to the group.
- A general overview of the scheme, flexibility in plans, plan management methods, NDIS tricks and traps.
- Using the NDIS portal, the NDIS Price Guide and ways to stay up to date with NDIS changes
- Case Studies– 8 yo with Autism, 18yo with physical disability leaving school and 40 yo with ID living at home with example NDIS plans
