NDIS Implementation Workshop 1
Registrations are now open for the first NDIS Implementation Workshop in the roll out regions of Inner Gippsland, Ovens Murray, Inner East Melbourne and Outer East Melbourne. NDS has designed these workshops to support disability service providers as they commence NDIS implementation.
The session will provide:
- Up-to-date news on the NDIS transition from key agencies; NDS, DHHS, NDIA and the regions LAC.
- Special guest presentation from your regions Early Childhood Early Intervention partner.
- A question and answer session with presenters.
- The opportunity to network with your peers from the region over morning tea and to ask questions of our NDS Sector Engagement Team and other agency representatives.
- Two targeted workshop on the topics of Activity Costs, and Support Coordination
Special Guest – Early Intervention Early Childhood Partner
NDS will be joined by your regions Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) partner, who will discuss the ECEI role, its requirements and what providers can expect in the coming months of transition.
Activity CostsActivity costs are additional costs incurred as a result of providing a particular activity, these include; entrance fees, activity-specific equipment and resources, and activity specific expertise. This short presentation will detail when and how a provider can charge an activity cost under the NDIS.
This workshop aims at informing both registered NDIS Support Coordinators and other disability support providers about what to expect when working with a participant who has support coordination included in their plan. The extended session will explore the roles and responsibilities of a Support Coordinator, focusing on managing requests for service and working with other supports, navigating conflicts of interest, report writing and billable hours. Time will also be allocated for questions from the audience.

NDS recommends that strategic leaders within disability service organisations are most suited to attend including; CEOs, CFOs and HR Managers.
