People with disability have the capacity and ability to take part in meaningful work of their choice when provided with the right employment strategies and supports. Through the NDIS people with disability are increasingly seeking transition to work supports that incorporate a Customised Employment approach.

NDS is hosting a two-day specialised training program that will help your organisation and the people with disability you support to achieve suitable and sustainable employment/work results using a Customised Employment approach and the Discovering Process.

Attendees of this highly valuable training and a different ‘out of the box’ approach will gain an insight into:
1. Supporting Families to Support Work Activities
2. An explanation of the Customised Employment approach
3. The Discovery Process
4. Informational Interviewing
5. Building Workplace Partners

This interactive training will assist you to develop the knowledge, tools and resources necessary for your team to support people with disability who want to work. This includes providing support and resources to families and encouraging them to be part of the transition journey, undertaking a thorough discovery process of the person with disability and how this process interacts with the Customised Employment approach.

The training will also provide attendees with practical examples of maintaining successful workplace partnerships through using the informational interviewing technique and case studies to assist you and your teams to think differently when it comes to employment supports for people with disability.
