Understanding Autism

This workshop is aimed at anyone who works alongside or supports people who are on the Autism Spectrum, this could include disability support workers, team leaders and supervisors.

The workshop will be facilitated by Autism Tasmania Inc., with aims to broaden your knowledge of Autism through participation in engaging learning activities including presentations and discussions with adults on the Autism spectrum.

On completion, you will have a broad understanding of Autism and greater confidence in interacting with individuals on the Autism spectrum.

We will look at current research on Autism Spectrum Disorders, including prevalence, gender ratios, adult outcomes, as well as:

  • The characteristics of autism and the impact on individual functioning; and
  • Evidence-based intervention strategies and principles of best practice in the support of clients on the Autism spectrum.

The program is delivered in the form of a four-hour workshop.

Cost is $110 per participant.
