National Disability Services invites service delivery and NDIS intake managers, team leaders and frontline managers to the third Southern Melbourne NDIS Readiness Workshop, focusing on activity costs, payment assurance as well as provider travel and participant transport.

The morning session will provide (10:00am – 1:00pm):

  • Up-to-date news from key agencies, including NDS, NDIA and DHHS, as well as the LAC and ECEI partners
  • A question and answer panel with presenters
  • An opportunity to network with your peers across the sector
  • A targeted presentation on activity costs – NDIS funded and non-funded costs

Presentation: Activity Costs

When participating in activities there are two primary costs: firstly the cost of the support provided to a person with disability and secondly the direct costs of the activity such as entrance fees, activity-specific equipment and resources, and activity specific expertise. This short presentation will detail when and how a provider can charge an activity cost under the NDIS.

The afternoon session will provide (1:00pm - 3:00pm):

Presentation: Payment Assurance - Reporting and Evidence Collection

This presentation will explore how and why NDIS providers are documenting supports for payment and assurance purposes, flexible ways of working with participants and the importance of tracking outcomes.

Workshop: Provider Travel and Participant Transport

This presentation will explain the difference between provider travel and participant transport and how these costs can be claimed under the NDIS. It will explore the NDIS provider travel policy, highlighting circumstances where providers may be able to recover travel costs and ways to increase efficiencies where they cannot. Attendees will have the opportunity to apply their learning by completing an activity.

NDS recommends that strategic leaders, senior managers and team leaders within disability service organisations are most suited to attend.
