Failure to identify and monitor deteriorating health was identified as a key issue during a 2020-21 investigation into the deaths of disability residents by the Victorian Disability Services Commissioner.

NDS welcomes the development of new resources, including a poster and supporting document, to assist providers and workers to recognise and respond to signs of deteriorating health.

The poster is designed to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of deteriorating health and provide information about what action a support worker should take once any signs or symptoms have been identified.
