Tasmania Workforce Roundtable: Retention Challenges and Opportunities

For providers of disability services in Tasmania, retention of staff is difficult and staff turnover is costly. Depending on the role and size of the business, replacing an employee can cost from 30 to 150 per cent of their annual salary. Staff retention is crucial to providing consistent, timely and viable services.
At an online interactive roundtable on Tuesday 21 February, our community of providers will have a chance to delve into the problem.
The discussion will cover the reasons for staff turnover, some best practices for retaining staff and possible solutions to workforce losses.
This will be a great opportunity to share with other disability service providers, hear their experiences and take some lessons. The meeting will also link you to NDS and other resources to guide you through your staff retention issues and find solutions.
