Register now for NDP’s Workforce Virtual Conference, 23 May (10am to 6pm AEST). This one-day virtual conference will focus on future-proofing the disability workforce.

There is no doubt that the NDIS presents one of the largest job creation opportunities in Australian history. According to an NDIS Workforce report by the Joint Standing Committee on the NDIS earlier this year, the NDIS workforce will need to grow by an additional 83,000 full time equivalent staff to support participants at the scheme’s projected peak.

In addition to the 83,000 new staff needed, 213,000 workers will be needed to replace those leaving the industry due to high turnover. In total 296,000 workers will be needed for the disability sector in the lead up to 2025.

But the numbers don’t speak to the full picture of what is required. It is difficult enough for the sector to attract and retain suitably skilled, qualified, resilient and valued workers, but how can this be achieved during a time already challenged by COVID-19 and the ‘great resignation’?

Don’t miss this opportunity to understand how you can help to deliver the disability sector workforce of the future.

Conference themes include:

  • Resilience and recognition
  • Retention
  • Innovative workforce sourcing
  • Workforce diversity
  • Greater employment options for people with disability
  • Innovative supervision model
  • Training
