NDIS Commission releases new resources on registration renewals from 1 July

Blurry image of people in a room

The NDIS Commission has released updated and reformatted resources for providers transitioning into the new quality and safeguarding arrangements from 1 July 2019.These include both a significantly expanded menu of options available from the Providers tab on the Commission’s website homepage and the publication of a Provider Information Pack “to ensure NDIS providers have the key information required to provide services and supports to NDIS participants.”The Pack is available for download and in a printed form by request, either as a consolidated document or in a series of individual booklets focused on different elements of providers’ obligations under the new system. The ‘Introduction to Provider Registration’ booklet contains useful step-by-step instructions for the registration and renewal processes and the ‘Registration Renewal Fact Sheet’ answers many of the most frequently asked questions from providers with operations in multiple states/territories, identifying the full range of possible scenarios and the Commission’s solutions. The Commissioner has also written to all providers in the last week with information about their organisation’s status as a registered NDIS provider. This email establishes that, once a provider has started the renewal process, their organisation “will have no longer than 12 months to complete all steps.”Providers that have not received that email correspondence from the Commission (or prior correspondence from the Commission in May) should check their NDIS myplace portal record to ensure the contact details contained there are correct and follow-up with the Commission Helpdesk as a matter of priority.
