It should not come as a surprise that, after consultation with the broad disability sector, the Independent Advisory Council (IAC) has stated that Independent Assessments should not go ahead in their current form. In response, the NDIA has indicated that it:

"…expects to support or support in principle all of the recommendations directed to it by the Council relating to independent assessments, personalised budgets, rebuilding relationships with the disability community, and provider practice, and to note recommendations directed to governments."
