National Disability Services is returning to the Goulburn NDIS roll out region for the third NDIS Readiness Workshop on 15 November 2018.

The session will include:

  • Up-to-date news from key agencies, including; NDS, NDIA, DHHS and LAC (La Trobe Community Health Services)
  • A question and answer panel with presenters
  • The opportunity to network with your peers across the sector during scheduled breaks and light lunch
  • A presentation on responding emergency situations, plan reviews and activity costs
  • An opportunity to apply your learning with a workshop activity

Activity Costs: NDIS funded and non-funded costs

When participating in activities there are two primary costs: firstly the cost of the support provided to a person with disability and secondly the direct costs of the activity such as entrance fees, activity-specific equipment and resources, and activity specific expertise. This short presentation will detail when and how a provider can charge an activity cost under the NDIS.

COAG Applied Principles and Responding to Emergency Situations

The session will discuss the flexibility of NDIS funding and the roles and responsibilities of the NDIA and other mainstream service sectors. This information will be used to explore how service providers respond and their duty of care in emergency situations.

Scheduled and Unscheduled Plan Reviews

This presentation will explore the purpose and process of scheduled plan reviews, discussing the role of the provider and how to best support participants during review. The presentation will also identify the different types of unscheduled plan reviews and outline the associated circumstances, expectations and timelines when requesting them. The session will explore the role of the service provider and the supports available to participants throughout the process.

Who should attend?

NDS recommends that strategic leaders within disability service organisations are most suited to attend including CEOs, CFOs and HR Managers. This session is not suited to NDIS participants, their families or carers.

This venue is wheelchair-accessible. Please contact the organiser directly with any additional accessibility requirements.
