Caroline Mannix, Assistant Director of Behaviour Support in the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
Jane Awwad, Assistant Director Compliance in the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
Anne Gale, Public Advocate

This three hour workshop will consist of information pertaining to the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission, the use of restrictive practices under the Quality and Safeguarding standards, monitoring of agencies compliance within the new standards and the role of the Public Advocate.

Jane Awwad, Assistant Director in the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, will present an overview of the work of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission including:

  • NDIS Commission Structure
  • Quality and Safeguarding Framework
  • Overview of Commission functions
Caroline Mannix, Assistant Director of Behaviour Support in the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, will present an overview of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Behaviour Support functions including:
  • Role of NDIS Commission behaviour support function
  • Regulated restrictive practices
  • Specialist Behaviour Support Provider Requirements
  • Transition arrangements
Anne Gale, Public Advocate, will present:
  • The role of the public advocate
  • Relevant legislation
  • Informal arrangements
  • The role of SACAT
  • Guardianship orders and restrictive practices authorisation in SA
Light refreshments are included and all speakers will be available for questions after their presentations.
