  • Workshop 1: Cost of doing business in an NDIS environment

19 June 2018, 9:30-12:30pm

In this half day workshop, Professor David Gilchrist will build on the experience of the roll out of the NDIS in the Eastern States to examine the cost of doing business under the new model. This is a very practical workshop aimed at ensuring participants are aware of some of the costs associated with administrative changes as well as some of the hiccups in the NDIS system that result in increased cost and which must be managed.

  • Workshop 2: Structured Change Management in the NDIS Environment

10 July 2018, 9:30-12:30pm

Penny Knight, Managing Director of BaxterLawley, will present this half day session focused on changing your organisation efficiently and effectively in order to meet the challenges of the NDIS roll out. The impact of the NDIS ranges across all aspects of the organisation and this practically focused session will examine decision making and organisational change management in the context of the experience of the NDIS roll out felt in the Eastern States and provide practical tips and ideas for your organisation.

  • Workshop 3: Human Resource Management in an NDIS World

16 August 2018, 9:30-12:30pm

Over a half day, Craig Edmonds, principal of BaxterLawley will consider the experience of the NDIS roll out in the context of human resources management. This session will be very practically orientated and examine human resources issues in the context of change management, the NDIS roll out, mergers and acquisitions, collaborations and performance management. He will provide some practical tools and point to important considerations with respect to the NDIS and the way the scheme impacts the role of staff, authorisation processes and performance management processes.

  • After Hours 5-7pm: NDIS for Boards

13 September 2018, 5:00pm-7:00pm

In this session, Professor David Gilchrist will provide an update on practical experience relating to the NDIS roll-out and contextualise this experience for board members. He will examine the cost of doing business with the NDIA, the practicalities of the roll out—what is working and what is not—and suggest ways that boards might approach the risk and opportunity inherent in this scheme, supporting their decision making requirements and focusing on risk management.
