ACT Disability Sector Forum
2019 promises to be another big year of change for all of us here in the nation’s capital. So, for the first ACT Disability Sector Forum for the year, it's time to look towards the horizon and start thinking about how the sector prepares for what 2019 may bring.
We had a great discussion at the last sector forum that provided invaluable feedback for our work over the past few months, so I’m looking forward to what insights come out of our discussions at this meeting.
Provider registration processes for quality and safeguarding will be changing at territory and national levels, so we’ve got the ACT Human Services Registrar and NDIS Commission representatives coming along to provide the latest updates on what to expect and how to prepare for the changeover on 1 July.
We’ll also be taking a look at some of the NDIS services that can make the whole system work better and whether more needs to be done to make these functions work better for all providers and participants, including ‘Tier 2’ functions (information, linkages and capacity building and Local Area Coordination), support coordination and plan management.
With the Federal Election due between now and May, we’ll discuss how the disability sector and community prepares for potential changes, including policy shifts and any Royal Commissions that impact our sector.
Register now to be part of the disability sector discussions.
