ACT Governance Better Practice Guide

Introduction

The NDS ACT Governance Better Practice Guide was developed as part of the Strengthening the Sector (2009) project which focused on equipping the ACT disability sector with practical support and tools to enable it to remain sustainable.

This guide includes reference material and checklists to enable organisations to assess their existing capabilities in such key areas as:

• Governance, especially pertaining to Boards
• Financial Management
• Risk Management
• Planning
• Human Resources

This guide also provides sample documents for organisations to use as a basis for developing their own tailored governance tools and documents.

The NDS ACT Governance Better Practice Guide will be regularly reviewed to ensure its currency.  As additional tools are developed, these will be added to the Guide.
