Victorian providers are operating in an extremely challenging COVID-19 environment, particularly with the lockdown of metropolitan Melbourne and the state border closures. NDS has started a major project on infection control and business continuity that will provide support to members over the coming months.

As part of this project, we are working with DHHS on a program of visits by public health team members to a selected number of disability houses to commence in late July and conclude by the end of August.  Each visit will take approximately 90 minutes and is an opportunity to get practical assistance from the experts who will provide support and advice on ways to prepare for and manage any outbreaks of Coronavirus.

This is a free service but only a limited number of visits will be available. Disability houses in metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire will be given priority.

For more information, or to request a visit please email: silprovider.inbox@dhhs.vic.gov.au with the subject heading COVIDIPC VISIT

A self-assessment tool on how to manage infection control and prepare to manage an outbreak will also be available shortly.
