Congratulations to Douglas Humbert of LEAD

Mr Douglas Humbert of LEAD has been presented with the 2010 NDS Joan Berry Scholarship by Ms Joy Burch MLA, the Minister for Disability, Housing and Community Services.

Ms Burch stated, "Mr Humbert is passionate about his work; I am delighted that this award will assist him to better support clients and colleagues".

NDS ACT is pleased that this scholarship will allow Mr Humbert to complete a diploma in horticulture. His passion and commitment was evident during the application process and in his acceptance speech at the award ceremony.

Mr Jeremy Hanson MLA and Mr Martin Hehir, Chief Executive of the Department of Disability, Housing and Community Services were present at the ceremony, as was Vanessa Attridge, also of LEAD, who was the proud recipient of the first NDS Joan Berry Scholarship (granted in 2009). 

NDS would like to thank all who were able to attend and celebrate this important award. Please remember that it is not too early to start thinking about your application for the 2011 Scholarship.
