Government will investigate access to electronic media
NDS welcomes the Australian Government’s announcement that it will investigate access to electronic media by people who are Deaf or hearing impaired and blind or vision impaired.
Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Stephen Conroy, in making the announcement, released a discussion paper which identifies existing regulatory requirements and current levels of captioning and audio description; outlines arrangements in a number of overseas jurisdictions; and invites comments on a range of key issues.
