Disability Action Week campaign encourages businesses to put people with disability on their recruitment radar

Disability Action Week, 26 November - 2 December 2022

Disability Action Week, which runs 26 November to 2 December, recognises the contributions people with disability make to our families and communities, and to Queensland’s economy.

This year’s theme, ‘Workforce Diversity: open up to opportunity’, celebrates the skills, talents and abilities people with disability bring to workplaces.

The 2022 campaign highlights the benefits of diverse workforces for businesses and encourages employers to put people with disability on their recruitment radar.

Support, resources and funding are available to help employers enjoy the opportunities offered by a diverse workforce.

By making their recruitment practices more accessible and inclusive, employers can expand their potential applicant population, tapping into the diverse talents of tens of thousands of skilled and qualified Queenslanders — and create a more equitable working environment for everyone.

A simple action can open up a world of opportunity.

Information about support for businesses preparing to hire people with disability and free promotional resources for Disability Action Week 2022 are available at qld.gov.au/daw.
