Director – Service Operations

This is a newly created position due to an expansion of the organisation, which will have responsibilities for the professional, efficient and effective operation of the organisation, providing management and leadership in a not for profit, non Government disability service.  This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for a number of staff members.

Sharing Places Inc. provides community access, social participation and ongoing learning opportunities for adults who have severe and complex needs.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Comprehensive knowledge of organisational policy development and implementation and Disability Service Standards.

• Supervision/management skills and experience within a community based service.

• Specialist knowledge in disability services, gained through experience, training or education.

• Appreciation and knowledge of the importance of strategic long term goals and planning with regard to the structure and function of a disability service in relation to consumers, the disability sector and Government.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications with experience in the disability area and/or extensive experience of at least 5 years as a middle manager/coordinator preferably in the human services area.
