Organisational Member - Application Information

To complete your membership application you will need to:

  1. Declare that you have received these documents during the membership application process
    • NDS Objects (NDS Constitution)
    • NDS Statement of Principles for Service Providers
  2. You will need to provide the following information about your organisation and the main contact for your organisation
    1. Organisations Head Office - Organisation Name, ABN, Postal and Street Addresses, Organisation Website, Phone and Fax Numbers
    2. Service Details - General Information:
      • No of FTE Permanent Staff
      • No of FTE Casual Staff / Volunteers

Organisation's Areas of Interest - there are 15 options to review - please select one or more areas. The selections here will govern which areas NDS will consult with your organisation on.

Specific information re Organisational Services ie the Number of Outlets and Number of Clients for the following service types:

  • Accommodation Support (including Group Homes and Attendant Care etc)
  • Advocacy, information and alternative forms of communication services
  • Community Access/Social Participation (inc. recreation, life skills development, etc)
  • Community Support (inc. therapy, early childhood intervention, case management, etc)
  • Australian Disability Enterprises
  • Open Employment
  • Respite
  • Other Support (Research & Evaluation, Training & Development, Other)
  • Peak Body

Disability Types:

  • Acquired brain injury
  • Autism (including Asperger's syndrome)
  • Deaf-blind (dual sensory)
  • Developmental delay (applies to 0-5 year olds only, if no other category is suitable)
  • Hearing (sensory)
  • Intellectual (including Down syndrome)
  • Neurological (including epilepsy and Alzheimer's Disease)
  • Physical
  • Psychiatric
  • Specific learning/Attention Deficit Disorder (other than intellectual)
  • Speech (sensory)
  • Vision (sensory)
  • Other or not classified

 

Is your organisation a training provider?

Organisations Annual Income - NDS Membership Fee is determine a sliding scale based on your organisations annual income for the previous financial year.

Annual income for Organisational Membership is the regular annual income from all sources, including regular grants and subsidies, but excluding project or capital grants. For those organisations that are not exclusively disability service providers, the annual subscription fee will be calculated on the income of the division or branch that relates to disability services.

Please note that you will be asked to submit copy of the Annual Financial Report that clearly shows your organisations income. This can be done electronically or by fax/post.

Once you have completed everything on this screen - select CONTINUE which will take you to a new screen "Organisational Member - Main Contact" or CANCEL to delete all entered data and return to the NDS home page

The main contact for your organisation will typically be the CEO, the Chairman or a Senior Manager. This is the person NDS will correspond with on all official matters.

For voting purposes, the main contact will act as the organisation's voting representative until you notify nds@nds.org.au otherwise.

You will require their Name, Address, Title, Contact information (Email, Telephone etc)

They will also require a password.

The most important pieces of information that an individual needs to select are "Areas of Particular Interest", "Information Sources" and "States to receive emails from"

Areas of Particular Interest: NDS News Updates are emailed throughout the month to members who have indicated an interest in specific topic areas. To receive News Updates please select from the following topics:

  • Accommodation Support
  • Ageing and Disability
  • Assistive Technology and Access
  • Children, Young People & Their Families
  • Australian Disability Enterprises
  • Income Support
  • Industrial Relations
  • International Development
  • Management / Governance
  • Open Employment
  • OHS
  • Social Participation
  • Tax
  • Training & Professional Development
  • Workforce Issues

Information Sources - these are types of information the member would like to receive - News Updates, Newsletters, Info-e's, Conferences & Events, Trainings Updates, Jobs. At a minimum News Updates would be recommended.

States to receive emails from - National, ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA. You will receive information from the States you select. We recommend National and the State that you reside.

If you do not wish to receive information - please do not select an "States to receive emails from" or "Information Sources".

Once your application has been approved, you can change your Subscription Preferences at any time by logging in to the NDS Website - go to your details and select / unselect the categories as desired.

Once you have entered the required information - select CONTINUE to go to the final screen or REVIEW to go back to the previous screen. You may also CANCEL - but this will result in any information entered being lost.

Finally you will be brought to the "New Organisational Member Declaration" screen

New Organisational Member Declaration - a summary screen will present for you to confirm you have completed your membership requirements and then you will be required to submit the application.

Upon submitting your application, it will go through the review process. NDS will notify you of the outcome of your application. Successful applications will be required to pay the membership fee - after which you will become a member of NDS and be able to access the full range of services and news that NDS membership entitles you to.
